About Us

Alex Mollen is an experienced manager and management consultant. He started his career in Information Technology, with functions at Shell Curaçao NV and Oracle Corporation. After obtaining an MBA degree at the Harvard Business School, he had commercial responsibility for the Oracle CASE products in the United States. He has spent the majority of his career at Deloitte Dutch Caribbean, where he has held positions as Consulting Manager, Consulting Partner and Office Managing Partner. As of December 2011, Mr. Mollen has started his own consultancy company.

                            Consulting Partner (2010-Nov 2011)

                             Lead the consulting department with emphasis on Information Technology, Strategy & Operations and Human Capital. Major engagements include:

-       Project coordinator for the redesign of the Ministery of Finance, Ministry of General Affairs and Ministry of Governance, Planning and Service as part of the constitutional reforms of the Netherlands Antilles

-       Project to couple five electronic “base registrations” of the Curaçao government: Curaçao residents, businesses, terrains, addresses, and topography.

-       Review of effectiveness of a major funding organization for development funds

-       Strategy plan 2010-2014 of major utility company

                         Managing Partner (“kantoorvoorzitter”) (2005-2010)

Lead Deloitte & Touche Netherlands Antilles & Aruba, a member firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu employing approximately 100 people internationally active in professional services including accountancy, assurance services, management consulting and fiscal advice.

                         Consulting Partner (1993-2005)

Lead consulting division of Deloitte in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. Engagements cover assignments in both information systems and strategic management. Assignments are concentrated in the areas of strategy and implementation of management information systems, tourism, financial structuring and feasibility, reorganizations, privatization, human resources and economic development. Member of the Latin America & Caribbean Management Consulting Committee (1993-1997). Participated in work group that provided basis for start-up of world-wide Management Solutions initiative (1996). Named Assistant Managing Partner of the firm in 2001.

                         Manager, Management Consulting Practice (1990-1992)

Responsible for the Management Consulting division of Deloitte in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.

1987-1990         Oracle Corporation, Belmont, California, U.S.A.

                                                     Senior Product Manager, Tools Division (1990)

Responsible for marketing, business development, and determining features of new family of Application Development Tools, especially geared towards quickly developing computer applications that use windowing systems.

                                       Product Manager, CASE Tools (1987-1989)

Responsible for all aspects of the Oracle CASE tool family (three products) in U.S.A. except their actual development (tools were developed in Oracle United Kingdom).

System Engineer

Responsible for all system software across IBM mainframe and System/34 (later System/36) computers. Introduced the VM/SP operating system. Implemented telecommunications network linking all mini- and mainframe systems at Shell Curaçao. Responsible for security. Acted as project leader and analyst for several small application development efforts.

Founding chairman of CICA, an industry interest group for companies in the ICT sector. Became Vice Chairman in 2003 after statutory term as Chairman of 3 years.

Mr. Mollen was born in Surinam and raised in Curaçao. He is fluent in Dutch, English, and Papiamento, and conversant in Spanish. His hobbies include aviation (he holds a private pilot certificate with an instrument rating), volleyball, strategic games and simulations, and he has a broad interest in the field of information technology.
